3 The Hard Way (Pain)
My friend!
Today, I will share 3 things with you about pain—
A quick, a quote, and a question.
The quick is a thought from me,
The quote is a thought from another, and
The question is a thought-provoker for your day.
All 3 aim at your thoughts because—
Your thoughts determine your choices.
Your choices define your actions.
Your actions design your life.
Now... let’s do this.
A quick from me:
Pain is not a penalty. Pain is a push. It stimulates your growth and pushes you to your next level. Accept the invitation. Pain does not penalize you for being weak. Pain prepares you to be strong.
Pain is the pathway to progress. Pain, not pleasure, is on the path to everything you truly want in life.
Pain appears in many ways— late nights at the office, early mornings at home, extra reps at the gym, difficult conversations in your relationships, easy conversations in your mind, big risks in your career, and small moments in the world.
Whatever the way, prefer pain.
A quote from Jim Morrison:
“People are afraid of themselves, of their own reality; their feelings most of all. People talk about how great love is, but that’s bullsh-t. Love hurts. Feelings are disturbing. People are taught that pain is evil and dangerous. How can they deal with love if they’re afraid to feel? Pain is meant to wake us up. People try to hide their pain. But they’re wrong. Pain is something to carry, like a radio. You feel your strength in the experience of pain. It’s all in how you carry it. That’s what matters. Pain is a feeling. Your feelings are a part of you. Your own reality. If you feel ashamed of them, and hide them, you’re letting society destroy your reality. You should stand up for your right to feel your pain.”
A question for you today:
When you begin to feel pain, what is your first thought? Quit or never quit? Grow or die?
Why do you think this is your first thought?

Joey
