Frozen Cat
As I pulled up to Few Will Hunt HQ, we locked eyes.
What he held in his hand immediately signaled that I could NOT trust him.
He stomped toward my Jeep, holding it by its tail as it swung violently.
I couldn’t believe what I was seeing:
It was a man holding a frozen cat.
It’s been below freezing frequently in Philly, and this cat was a casualty.
Sad… but true.
What wasn’t sad about this encounter? The man’s face.
It was painted with scorn and a scowl—
He showed no compassion, no care, no condolence for the cat.
I tell you this story because that cat could be you. In fact, it will be.
When you die, 99% of the people whose opinions you allowed to affect you…
They won’t be by your deathbed.
They won’t be at your funeral.
They won’t even shed a tear.
Today, this is your reminder to DO YOU.
Do you, regardless of the opinions of others, whether they’re saying them to your face or whispering them behind your back.
Remember that people’s opinions are often projections.
Many people project their insecurities, fears, or desires onto others. Their opinions have more to do with them than with you.
Allowing their opinions to affect you and dictate your actions is like living their life instead of your own.
When you die, and you look back on your life, make sure that you lived yours— not theirs.

Joey
